Dr. Davis is a graduate of The University of the South in Sewanee, TN and the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed his general surgery training at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD and was certified by the American Board of Surgery. His plastic surgery residency was at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, VA. He has been certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery since 1986.
Dr. Davis served as Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery at the National Naval Medical Center before entering private practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has led several overseas medical missions with Operation Smile and has been a leader in both local and national medical societies serving as President of the Raleigh Academy of Medicine, the North Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Council of State Plastic Surgery Societies.
Awards & Accomplishments
An esteemed North Carolina plastic surgeon, Dr. Davis holds appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has chaired several committees of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, serving on the Board of Directors and as an Officer of the Society. He has been recognized by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery with the Certificate of Advanced Education in Cosmetic Surgery, and by Who’s Who in Medicine. He is also been listed in the exclusive “Best Doctors in America” for 15 consecutive years, placing him in the top 3% of plastic surgeons in the country.
Hobbies & Outside Activities
When not seeing patients and performing cosmetic surgery procedures, Dr. Davis enjoys a variety of hobbies, with fly fishing as his personal favorite. He also uses his skills as a craftsman to help build and paint homes for the underprivileged. He remains dedicated to giving back to local communities in a wide variety of ways.

For the Military Patient
Dr. Davis understands the demands of military life for the active duty as well as the military spouse. His practice has many service members as patients and feels this is a privilege to be of service to our military families.
Dr. Davis grew up as an Army Brat moving across the country and overseas. His father was a career Regular Army Quartermaster officer veteran of WWII and Korea retiring as a Colonel.
After college, Dr. Davis received a direct commission in the Navy Reserve and upon completion of medical school was promoted to Lieutenant (O-3) and served his surgical internship at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. The next two and a half years he was a Naval Flight Surgeon assigned to squadrons of F-4 and F-14 fighter jets in San Diego and on board the carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt. He then returned to Bethesda Naval Hospital for four years of surgery residency and six months as a staff general surgeon before his three years of plastic surgery residency in Norfolk, Virginia. His last tour was back to the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda as Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery.
Upon moving to Raleigh for private practice, Dr. Davis continued his service in the drilling reserve and served as commanding officer of Naval Reserve Hospital Charleston. He retired as a Captain (O-6) in 2002.
