Cellfina™ Cellulite Treatment

The Cellfina™ System is the first FDA-cleared treatment for cellulite. It offers long-term results and 93% patient satisfaction, even 3 years after treatment.1 Cellulite remains one of the most frustrating appearance challenges for many women. Attempts to treat it with tools available previously were disappointing, unsuccessful or short term. Davis & Pyle Plastic Surgery is one of the first providers in North Carolina to offer this simple outpatient procedure, which takes less than an hour to complete and requires minimal recovery.

We encourage you to learn more about Cellfina™ on this page and also check out their Treatment FAQ’s. Please Request a Consultation to learn more about the improvements that nonsurgical cosmetic treatments like Cellfina™ cellulite treatment can make in your appearance.

The best candidates for the Cellfina™ System are women who feel unhappy with the appearance of cellulite on their thighs or bottom. While many people associate cellulite with being overweight, the dimpled texture is actually caused by tight bands of connective tissue within the fatty deposits below. Because these tough fibers form a webbed pattern that pulls down on the skin, the fat underneath is forced into lumps and bumps that are visible through the skin’s surface. The appearance of cellulite is related to genetics rather than BMI, so even very slender women can be excellent candidates for Cellfina™.

The Cellfina™ System works by releasing the fibrous tissue bands, or septae, that are responsible for the appearance of cellulite. First, each dimpled area is marked for treatment. Next, the skin over the area is pulled taut to properly position the septae, and a topical anesthetic is applied. Finally, a handheld device about the size of a smartphone is used to target and release the tight bands. The result is an almost immediate reduction in dimples as the skin relaxes and smoothes.

Before your Cellfina™ treatment, you’ll have a consultation session with our medical spa professionals to talk about your appearance goals. During this time, our aestheticians can talk more with you about whether you could be a good candidate for Cellfina™.
Your Cellfina™ session should only take about an hour. While patient experiences vary, you can expect to feel some tenderness in the treated area immediately after your treatment, but this should resolve quickly. A noticeable decrease in the appearance of your cellulite should be visible within a week. In fact, the FDA reported that 85% of patients were happy with their results at 3 months after treatment.2

Although the majority of women see significant improvement in their cellulite after only a single treatment session1, you may see more comprehensive results from multiple sessions, or from including additional med spa procedures.

Since Cellfina™ is minimally invasive, most patients can simply return to their normal daily routines after treatment, although you may want to take it easy for the first 24 hours. In a study for the FDA, the most common side-effects reported were minor bruising and redness that dissipated quickly. Results become visible as soon as a few days after your first session, and can last 3 years.1

After Cellfina™, you should see a smoother skin appearance without that frustrating “cottage cheese” look detracting from your current efforts to eat right and stay in shape. As the cellulite in your thighs and bottom becomes less noticeable, you may even enjoy a boost in self-esteem that lets you wear even the skimpiest bikini, skirt or workout gear with confidence.
